Jobs

Thank you for your interest in Makeshift, but we are no longer accepting applications for the three intern positions. Please check again in the future, and feel free to drop us a note about any stories of hidden creativity that you come across, wherever you are.

Makeshift, the field guide to hidden creativity, is looking for interns to dig deeper than ever before into the world’s bazaars, foundries, and cyber cafes. There’s no coffee or photocopy duties here: Makeshift is a small, global team, and this is an opportunity to be in at the ground level and grow our mission of uncovering creative solutions from the economic fringe. Give us your brainpower and drive, and we’ll give you mentorship and access to our global network of leading journalists, creatives, and partners.

Common requirements:

  • An interest in media, global affairs, and underground economies
  • A solid internet connection, anywhere in the world
  • Experience with remote collaboration via project management software
  • An entrepreneurial mindset (we’re building shit, we need ideas!)
  • Enthusiasm for Makeshift’s mission and products
